Grace, Gratitude & Generosity: Pillars of a Peaceful and Fulfilling Life

Life can be overwhelming. With so many devastating events going on around the world, the frenetic pace of modern life, and constant information overload, it can be difficult to stay grounded. This is why I like to simplify where possible. The values of grace, gratitude and generosity are my pillars for a peaceful and fulfilling life. While all values have their merits, I believe focusing on these provides a manageable and solid foundation.

GRACE: The word itself embodies its meaning – soft, elegant, and gentle. It’s a kindness and an open-heartedness often overlooked. I have begun intentionally embodying grace in my meditations. To embody a value means to feel its vibration throughout your body – to truly BE it. Moving with grace in the world means being kind & gentle with oneself and others. Allowing grace to suffuse your thoughts, words, and actions can be a guiding light through uncertain times.

GRATITUDE: Gratitude is a practice I’ve maintained pretty consistently for the past 5 years. Every morning, I thank Spirit for the gift of life, and Chris and I share what we’re grateful for at dinner. It can be as simple as acknowledging a delicious meal, our health, or a personal accomplishment. The principle “what we focus on grows” is at work, here. The more we focus on what we already have, the happier & more content we feel.

GENEROSITY: Generosity is fundamentally about giving. For me, it begins with self-care, which primes me to approach others with a more generous spirit. By nurturing myself first, I'm able to give from a place of abundance rather than depletion. This can involve offering my time, resources, and most importantly, love – freely & abundantly. Admittedly, it’s easier to extend love to those who reciprocate it. Yet, true generosity of spirit lies in offering understanding and compassion to all, regardless of how they respond. While challenging at times, the empathy and connection fostered through such acts are immensely rewarding.

Grounding myself in grace, gratitude, and generosity has provided stability and peace in a chaotic world.

How might embracing these values change your perspective and life?
